Nick Chubb Agrees to Rework Contract with Browns

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb has agreed to a reworked contract that will lower his base salary, according to multiple reports. Chubb, who suffered a severe knee injury in Week 1 of the 2023 season, is expected to miss the rest of the season.
The Browns released the following statement on Saturday:
"Nick Chubb has been a key piece of our team's success since he joined the Browns," Browns general manager John Dorsey said in a statement. "We are confident that he will return from this injury stronger than ever and continue to be a major contributor to our team."
Chubb, 26, is a two-time Pro Bowler and was named to the NFL's All-Pro team in 2020. He has rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of the past two seasons.
With Chubb out, the Browns will likely turn to running backs Kareem Hunt and Demetric Felton to carry the load this season.
