Boston Extends Winning Streak
In a resounding display of basketball dominance, the Boston Celtics cruised to a 124-95 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night. The Celtics, who have now won three straight games, improved their record to 27-12 on the season, while the Mavericks dropped to 22-17.
Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 37 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists. Jaylen Brown added 29 points, and Malcolm Brogdon chipped in with 26 points. Luka Dončić, the reigning Western Conference Player of the Week, paced the Mavericks with 23 points, but it was not enough to overcome the Celtics' balanced attack.
The Celtics dominated the game from start to finish, leading by as many as 34 points in the fourth quarter. They shot 51.2% from the field, including 44.4% from three-point range, and outrebounded the Mavericks 45-31.
The Mavericks, who were without injured star Kristaps Porzingis, struggled to find their rhythm offensively. They shot just 39.2% from the field and committed 17 turnovers.
With the victory, the Celtics moved into sole possession of second place in the Eastern Conference. The Mavericks, who have now lost three of their last four games, remain in fifth place in the Western Conference.
